Come and learn about tea in a working tea factory. We offer tea courses, tasting experiences and visits by appointment.
I have been making hand-made teas and teaching tea making around the world since 2011. The Scottish Tea Factory is my latest project where I produce artisanal teas for Scottish growers. I am also a licensed trainer for the U.K. TEA ACADEMY and offer various tea courses and experiences. See TEA COURSES page for what’s available and how to book courses or arrange a visit. Tea plucking & making courses are available over the summer months, please contact us to register interest.
The Tea Club is is a small community project for local people to learn more about tea. The club has 16 members who planted several tea plants in their own home gardens in 2018. The group get together annually and the tea factory provides ongoing group support in the form of emails and occasional workshops as needed. It takes 6 years for tea plants to grow to maturity so depending on how well they thrive, we hope eventually to pick and also use leaf from plants at the tea factory to make a small amount of “communiTEA”. We would plan to use any tea we produce to create a blend to sell locally, with any profits going back into the community or towards a charity.
I offer consultancy advice for would be tea growers and tea makers world-wide. I also run international tea tours. If you are interested in either, please be in touch for more information.
We are often busy making tea or running courses. We welcome visits by appointment. For details please go to the TEA COURSES page.
